The story
Sakori was nine when his world ended. His village was stripped of everything that kept it alive. His family was killed. And the conqueror responsible saw something in the boy who refused to kneel: a defiance worth keeping.
Dragged through the black gates of Khar’Rukan, Sakori enters a world where children learn to fight, fear holds an empire together, and the people who protect him are the same people he has sworn to hate.
But hatred becomes harder to understand when it shares a home with love.
Behind the palace walls, brutal lessons give way to unexpected bonds. A mother’s care. Siblings who refuse to leave one another behind. Teachers who demand strength, discipline, and the courage to face what every decision costs. Nothing can restore Sakori’s first family. Yet, slowly, the family that took everything becomes the one he cannot bear to lose.
As Sakori rides to war alongside the Red Heirs, he discovers that commanding warriors means more than winning battles. Every order has consequences. Every fallen soldier leaves someone waiting at home. And his rising Ka’ru the energy that fuels his strength can become as dangerous as any enemy when fury takes control.
Then there is Yanna of Halvek: a girl who sees past his title, challenges the empire he serves, and refuses to mistake being feared for being right. Through her, Sakori confronts questions that neither a sword nor his father’s teachings can settle. How much does loyalty demand? When does protection become possession? And can he love his family without becoming everything he once hated?
Sakori: Son of the Dark Alpha is the second novel in the Children of the Dark Alpha series—a young adult dark-fantasy story of conquest, found family, first love, and the struggle to choose who you become when survival has taught you to be ruthless.
