Last Time Memorialize - Funeral of Biggie Smalls ( The Notorious BIG )
Biggie was tragically murdered on March 9th, 1997, in Los Angeles, only six months after 2Pac was gunned down and murdered in Las Vegas. Biggie was riding in the passenger seat of a Chevy Suburban when the assailant's car pulled up to Biggie's vehicle at a stop light and fired multiple gunshots into the Suburban. Four of the bullets hit Biggie, striking him in his chest, shoulder, leg, forearm, and scrotum. Immediately after the shooting Biggie was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital -- where doctors performed an emergency thoracotomy ... but it was too late. Wallace was pronounced dead at 1:15 AM.

Biggie's body was then flown home to New York and taken to the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel on Madison Avenue for disposition. Biggie was placed in an oversized African mahagony casket dressed in a white double-breasted suit complete with a white 'playa' hat. A final audience was held for some three hundred invited guests including the David Dunkins, Mayor of New York City. At the conclusion of the brief service, Biggie was placed in a funeral coach and along with a cortege of cars was taken by procession to a nearby crematorium. But first, they passed through Brooklyn neighborhood where he was and grew up. After the cremation, his ashes were placed in two separate urns and remain today in the hands of family members.

As the hearse escorting Biggie slowly crept along St. James Place, his old stomping grounds in Bed-Stuy, the crowd of mourners shouted the legend's name and some even recited lyrics in tribute to a man from Brooklyn who had touched so many lives.
