The road back to Gia is covered in memories, broken weapons and the remains of a kingdom that could not survive the war surrounding it. Three months after the city falls, Jabari and Rimitorry return with one objective: rescue Sakori before the Dark Alpha can finish destroying what remains of him.

What they find inside the conquered fortress is not an ordinary battlefield. The guards are already dead. Their weapons and armor have been arranged with deliberate precision. At the center of the hall, one word explains everything: DEMON.

Tribal Comics Issue #5: Zafira the Demon introduces readers to one of the most dangerous, unpredictable and emotionally complicated warriors in the Tribal Comics series .

Created by Tony James Nelson II, the 25-page dark-fantasy comic transforms a rescue mission into a confrontation between siblings shaped by abandonment, warfare and radically different definitions of love.

Who Is Zafira the Demon?

Zafira is Rimitorry and Sakori's younger claimed sister, a wielder of the legendary Nebu Lance and the favored weapon of the Dark Alpha. She is beautiful, theatrical, calculating and terrifyingly comfortable with violence.

The name “Demon” does not describe a supernatural species. Zafira is human. The title reflects what she has deliberately trained herself to become: a warrior who reads opponents faster than they can attack, turns hesitation into a weakness and treats combat like a private game she has already decided to win.

Her confidence is summarized by one declaration: “I never lose.”

That confidence is not empty boasting. When Jabari and Rimitorry finally attack her together, Zafira faces chakrams, spellcasting, physical force and multiple forms of Ka'ru without surrendering control of the battlefield.

A Rescue Mission Becomes a Nightmare

The issue begins with Jabari and Rimitorry crossing the ruins surrounding Gia. Their relationship has changed during the three months since the kingdom fell. They are no longer simply two survivors moving in the same direction. They have become partners, lovers and two damaged people attempting to build something stronger than their pasts.

Jabari has also changed as a spellcaster. His ring allows him to draw power without paying the devastating physical cost that once accompanied his use of the Tribal Bible. Rimitorry has grown harder, quieter and even more protective of the people she considers hers.

Their intelligence indicates that Sakori remains alive in the fortress's lower levels. He is injured, imprisoned and too valuable for the Dark Alpha to kill. Jabari and Rimitorry enter the fortress, defeat its guards and break the magical lock protecting Sakori's cell.

The reunion gives the issue one of its most emotional moments. Rimitorry finds her broken older brother alive, while Sakori finds the little sister who has returned to carry him out.

Their escape should lead to another battle. Instead, it leads to silence.

Fifty-Three Warriors and One Message

The fortress's main hall contains the weapons and armor of 53 fallen Nebu warriors. Nothing about the scene resembles a confused fight. Every object has been positioned. Every detail has been designed to communicate intention.

Zafira killed them in approximately fifteen minutes.

She later describes the massacre as “art,” but her reasoning is even more disturbing than the display. Zafira sees the killings as a gift to Sakori. By destroying every warrior in the group's path, she believes she has protected her injured brother and prevented Rimitorry from having to fight while helping him escape.

This is the contradiction at the center of Zafira's character. She does not view love and violence as opposites. In the world that raised her, violence is often the proof that love is real.

“I made art.”

Family, Abandonment and the Sister Left Behind

The most powerful conflict in Zafira the Demon is not created by magic or weapons. It comes from the years separating Zafira from Rimitorry and Sakori.

Zafira remembers every departure. Rimitorry visited and left again. Sakori remained away for thirteen years. Their mother built another life in Gia. Zafira stayed behind with the father who raised her, trained her and transformed her into one of his most dangerous weapons.

When the siblings reunite, Zafira refuses to pretend those years did not matter. She challenges Rimitorry's excuses, questions Sakori's absence and reveals that she witnessed their father's attack on Rimitorry without being able to stop it.

Her anger is not evidence that she stopped loving them. It proves the opposite. Zafira is furious because the people she loved disappeared—and because part of her remained waiting for them to return.

Zafira vs. Rimitorry and Jabari

After Sakori begins recovering in a mountain cave between Gia and Terra, the group prepares to continue its search for Reonniz. Zafira blocks their departure.

She does not want another conversation. She wants proof.

Rimitorry attacks first, sending her chakrams through the mountain air. Zafira's lance turns the weapons aside and puts Rimitorry on the ground after only a few exchanges.

Jabari reaches for his newly developed Ka'ru. Gravity, time and mental force strike together, but Zafira breaks through the attack. She immediately recognizes his weakness: he thinks too much and hesitates before committing to violence.

When Rimitorry and Jabari attack together, Zafira finally receives the challenge she requested. Even then, she remains ahead of them. She reads their patterns, anticipates their targets and dismantles their coordination.

They last approximately twenty minutes.

Zafira remains standing.

“Not bad. You lasted longer than I expected.”

What Makes Tribal Comics Issue #5 Different?

Zafira the Demon combines dark-fantasy action with a character-driven family conflict. The comic offers violence and supernatural combat, but its emotional stakes come from people who love one another and no longer agree on what that love requires.

A Villain, Hero and Sister at the Same Time

Zafira cannot be reduced to a traditional villain. She clears the path for Sakori's rescue, but she does so through a massacre. She challenges Rimitorry, but part of that challenge is a demand to understand what her sister has become. She serves the Dark Alpha, yet her attachment to her siblings repeatedly disrupts that loyalty.

A Distinctive Dark-Fantasy World

The issue expands the mythology of the Tribal Universe through Ka'ru, the Tribal Bible, the Nebu Lance and the continuing struggle among the children claimed by the Dark Alpha and Utrea.

Black Fantasy Characters at the Center

The comic places powerful Black warriors, rulers, spellcasters and morally complicated women at the center of an original fantasy mythology. Its characters are not visitors in someone else's legend. They are the bloodline, the danger and the history shaping the world.

Family Drama With Real Consequences

Every fight is connected to a relationship. Every threat carries history. The characters are not only attempting to defeat enemies; they are deciding which family bonds remain strong enough to survive the coming war.

Based on Chapter 20 of Tribal: Bloody Beginnings

Zafira the Demon adapts selected events from Chapter 20 of Tony James Nelson II's novel Tribal: Bloody Beginnings .

The comic focuses on Sakori's rescue, Zafira's reunion with her siblings and the mountain confrontation that proves why she is called the Demon. The prose novel continues beyond the events depicted in the comic, providing additional context, character development and consequences.

Readers who want the complete journey can begin with the comic and continue through the novel, while existing readers of Tribal: Bloody Beginnings can experience the chapter's central confrontation through sequential visual storytelling.

Where Issue #5 Fits in the Tribal Comics Series

Zafira the Demon directly follows Tribal Comics Issue #4: Assault on Gia—Sakori's Fury .

Issue #4 depicts the invasion and fall of Gia. Issue #5 advances the story by three months and explores the consequences of that defeat. Gia is occupied, Sakori is imprisoned, Jabari's power is growing and the family surrounding the Dark Alpha is becoming even more divided.

The next objective is Terra, where Reonniz remains hidden. Both the heroes and the Dark Alpha are moving toward him, making Zafira's uncertain allegiance increasingly important.
